Hello everyone!
Please come to our Holiday Party, December 16, at noon at the Hermitage Inn in Dover. The luncheon is complimentary to all members. Please be sure to RSVP by email no later than December 10.
We will be swearing in our incoming Board of Directors & celebrating the milestones reached by our fellow REALTORS® of 20, 30 & 40 years as members. If you have attained this milestone, and we have yet to acknowledge you, please advise Kathy Sweeten, our AE, as soon as possible so that we don't miss anyone this year!
Well December is here already, we made it through another challenging year. Lets hope we all see improvements in sales in the coming year!
Interestingly, the trends in our business in the past year, varies depending upon the County. This seems to be true throughout the state as well. In Bennington County, sales of both residential and land are up, while prices are down, and days on the market are up considerably. By contrast, Windham County has seen sales down in residential and land, but with prices up along with days on the market.
I would like to thank our Board of Directors for their support and guidance over the past two years. It's been an honor serving as president of the Southern Vermont Board of REALTORS®. It has been a learning and growing experience, I thank you all for your encouragement and wish the incoming board all the best. Please remember, our organization depends upon volunteers, please consider participating in the coming year!
Sincerely,
Donna Lizza Roemmelt, President
Southern Vermont Board of REALTORS®

Don't Forget to Update Your Agents' Profiles on Realtor.com
REALTOR.com® recently added enhancements and social networking functions to the "Find a REALTOR®" section on REALTOR.com®.
The newly designed Find a REALTOR® search has been extremely popular with buyers and sellers. In fact, this improvement has increased REALTOR® searches via Find a REALTOR® almost 900%.
Agents may need to update their record so that they can be found on our redesigned site.
To protect their valuable profile information and contact details, new security measures are being introduced. REALTOR.com® will begin requiring all Agents to submit their NRDS ID, or identify as a non-REALTOR® when logging into the Control Panel starting in late November. By the end of the year, if your Agents have not supplied an active NRDS ID, they will not be searchable within the Find a REALTOR® directory.

Add Some Charm to Your Holiday Listings

Nobody wants to be the Grinch who stole Christmas but when you're trying to sell a home, too much holiday spirit can turnoff some potential buyers. Buyers are there to look at the house and all of its wonderful features, not tippy-toe over the giant blow-up Santa impeding the front door or squint to see the roof over the nine reindeer poised upon it.
But before you stick a needle in your seller's inflatable Santa, some real estate and staging professionals say home owners can still add a few decorations for the holidays when selling a home and don't assume buyers won't appreciate it too. Holiday decor can lighten moods and warm up interiors, so you don't have to swear it off completely because you're afraid of offending those who don't celebrate, they say. Read about holiday decor principles here.
