The BOD voted to move forward with contract discussions for “Point2”, a listing syndication tool. If satisfactory agreement is reached, Point2 will offer NNEREN brokers and agents an alternative to the ListHub syndication product which is currently available.
NNEREN News
NNEREN President John Kinney was recognized for his leadership and commitment to the NNEREN membership and organization over the past year by NNEREN President-elect Peter Schwartz and the entire Board of Directors.
The BOD discussed the outcome of the November, 2012 NAR MLS Policy Committee Meeting and subsequent NAR BOD Meeting.
- Regarding mandatory NAR IDX rules:
- The “Franchisor” IDX provision has been eliminated
- Several elements from an NAR PAG committee’s recommendation have been approved in concept, including allowing IDX display on social media sites (with a broker opt-out provision), and allowing IDX content on 3rd party sites where displays are “controlled by the participant”. However, IDX via RSS is to be prohibited.
IDX model rules and policy are to be drafted accordingly in preparation for the 2012 NAR Mid-year meetings. NNEREN participants can voice their opinion on these IDX issues through an online nationwide survey. A link to the survey is available to brokers in the NNEREN News section of the InnoVia homepage.
2) NAR has also determined that MLSs may now require participants to disclose if a listed property is a foreclosure, bank-owned, or real estate owned (“REO”). NNEREN members are encouraged to share their input on this potential mandatory disclosure requirement with their NNEREN representative or NNEREN management.
Down Payment Resource – the new tool that provides online notice of homebuyer assistance programs through an icon on property displays – is gaining traction with NNEREN members and consumers. The traffic report for November indicated that DPR generated approx. 2600 views by agents, 1450 consumer views by the public (with nearly 600 views via IDX sites), more than 500 buyer eligibility form completions and about 100 submissions of contact info by consumers. The full report is available on the member side of www.nneren.com under “Resources” then “Forms & Member Resources”.
As of January 1, 2012, brokers who wish to allow continued use of Fax-to PDF service will need to change the Fax-to-PDF setting from "No" to "Yes" in their InnoVia firm record. Member offices will incur a charge of $.17 per page for any Fax-to-PDF usage after Dec. 31st, 2011.
